Parsons Family Farm in Olympia, WA was slated to be cleared for a 50 lot sub-division. Working with the owners, Capital Land Trust, the City of Olympia, and the local community, REGEN identified an alternative business model that is projected to match the estimated sub-division profits within ten years. The model preserves, and leverages the farm’s natural assets to generate sustainable revenue streams that will yield a far greater return over the lifespan of their investment. In addition to preserving critical habitat and working lands, partnerships with local universities, municipalities, farmers, and 4H have provided an unforeseen value stream through true community engagement.
